ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Marmion is a wonderful school with a supportive community. Our school, which aims to develop a robust sense of personal worth in all students, is dedicated to learning, equity, excellence and care. The focus for all our efforts is the students.

The school has a very professional and dedicated staff who work hard to maximise learning opportunities for all its students. This is best achieved with your cooperation and support.

Education is a shared responsibility between the student, the teacher and the parents. We recognize and value the important contribution you make to your child's education. Our partnership is central to the delivery of sound educational programs that meet the needs of your child and our local community.

Background
Marmion is a coastal community some 18 kilometres from the Perth GPO. It is a well established locality with strong links between residents and the local school.

Marmion Primary School was opened in 1956 as a two teacher school. The founding Principal was Mr A Jones.

The buildings, which are set in lovely grounds with ample shade and playing areas, include a traditional linear structure of nine teaching areas, a six classroom cluster block used for the junior classes, a new Library Resource Centre and a double Pre-Primary Centre which was erected for the commencement of the 1997 school year. A Kindergarten is located on the school grounds.

Currently we cater for students from Kindergarten (4 Year Olds ) to Year 7 (last year of primary school ). The government high school to which we are attached, is Carine Senior High School.

School Purpose
The purpose of Marmion Primary School is to maximise each child's potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

This will be achieved in a happy, caring and stimulating environment and with the mutual commitment, support and cooperation of teachers, parents and students.

School Ethos
The school motto is "Strive to Learn". We aim to provide the best possible education for each child who attends our school. In particular, it is considered essential to develop a broad range of skills to enable children to develop responsibility for their own direction and to adapt to a changing world.

The focus is on providing learning opportunities that will allow students to achieve their potential. This is done in a caring environment that respects the rights of all members and recognises that children are our prime consideration.
